Team 1: Content Production Volunteer
  • Meets bimonthly with Diversity and Inclusion Subcommittee
  • Create, manage, and/or lead content creation with a focus on diversity equity and inclusion, with a team of volunteers for APTA Virginia diversity and inclusion subcommittee
  • Coordinate with the APTA Communications Committee on distributing content via established and existing channels
  • Creating and writing copy
  • Networking and partnering with organizations
  • Surveying the needs of members and the content they would like to connect with
 
Team 2: Community Outreach Volunteer
  • Meets bimonthly with Diversity and Inclusion Subcommittee
  • Participate in outreach and engaging underserved communities to teach about the benefits of physical therapy, our profession and utilizing physical therapy services.
  • Develop a process/network with providers that will connect underserved individuals with necessary community resources (i.e. pro bono, income based etc.) related to rehabilitation.
  • Fundraising in support of providing resources for program participants
  • Creating presentations and gathering useful resources to provide to community partners/clients
 
Team 3: Business Training Volunteer
  • Meets bimonthly with Diversity and Inclusion Subcommittee
  • Serve as a liaison and provide business education, practice strategy, and content to our mentees and the APTA Virginia community in order to facilitate creating a sustainable private practice within underserved areas.
  • Network and recruit other business professionals
  • Business/Practice management experience is preferred
 
Team 4: Leadership Volunteer
  • Meets bimonthly with Diversity and Inclusion Subcommittee
  • Provide educational content and concepts on leadership to mentees in the APTA DIS Mentoring Program also to include current committee members and volunteers in order to facilitate effective leaders.
 
Team 5: Cultural Humility Volunteer
  • Meets bimonthly with Diversity and Inclusion Subcommittee
  • We aim to optimize inclusivity and participants experience by recruiting volunteers of diverse backgrounds
  • Create and share cultural humility educational content for APTA Virginia its districts, committees, partners, and its members with at team of volunteers
  • Promote Participation and increase awareness in APTA Diversity and Inclusion Subcommittee.
