Governor Glenn Youngkin Appoints Megan R. Bureau, PT, DPT to Virginia Board of Physical Therapy

    

Governor Glenn Youngkin has appointed Megan R. Bureau, PT, DPT to the Virginia Board of Physical Therapy with her 1st term set to expire June 30, 2027. The board licenses and regulates physical therapists, physical therapist assistants and direct access certification.
        

Dr. Megan Bureau, PT graduated from James Madison University with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and a minor in Coaching and Exercise Leadership. She then graduated from Shenandoah University with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. She is a Sports Certified Specialist as recognized by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties. Dr. Bureau is currently an Associate Professor and the Director of Clinical Education for the Division of Physical Therapy at Shenandoah University. She specializes in Sports Medicine, Clinical Education and Spine rehabilitation.

     
Some of her professional highlights include Virginia Physical Therapy Association Delegate to the APTA House of Delegates; Item Writer for the National Physical Therapist Exam, Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy; 2015 VPTA Scott Sullivan Award for Outstanding Association, and 2011 APTA Emerging Leader Award Recipient.

Outside of work, Megan and her husband enjoy spending time with their son and Golden Retriever. They love to travel, RV camp, and spend time together as a family.
