Serving on an APTA Virginia board or committee gives you an opportunity to be directly involved in shaping the future of physical therapy in the state of Virginia. You will have a voice in changes that affect physical therapists, how they practice, and future research, education and knowledge sharing.
Advocate for issues that will shape the future of physical therapy.

Type the text hereIf you're new to APTA VA's governance, there are many ways you can get involved. Start familiarizing yourself with our goals, processes, and structure. Boards and committees represent an area of expertise or specific constituencies. These groups are charged with policy development and also propose ideas and solutions specific to our mission. Read more about our current leadership composition here.
Find opportunities that fit your areas of expertise and interest.
Look over the board and committees list and talk with others who are involved in APTA VA governance to see where your leadership and experience would serve you and others best.
Carefully review the requirements for open positions.
Calls for nominations include specific areas of specialty and diversity variables needed to maintain the positions' overall makeup. Find a position that is a good fit for the board's needs and your interests.

- Secretary: Central, Northern, Tidewater
- Treasurer: Blue Ridge, Mountain, Valley
- Valley District Directors: even year directors
- Nominating Committee Member: Blue Ridge, Mountain, & Valley
